Another Tragedy from the News

Unfortunately, more bombs have been set off in our country. The first memory I had of this was the Boston bombings in 2013. This was the first spring that my brother had moved to Boston. He had come home, about thirty-five miles west of the city, for the long weekend. He was going back to the city the day of the marathon. My parents, my brother, and I had lunch before we drove my brother back to the train station. We ate at Olive Garden, and truthfully, Olive Garden saved my brother's life. He was supposed to be on the train that was arriving right in front of the site where the bombs exploded. However, he took the later train because lunch took longer than expected.
This past weekend, more explosions set off in Chelsea New York and another one in suburban New Jersey. Chelsea is known for it's busy nightlife and the bomb exploded around 8:30 pm. Twenty-nine people were hurt from the homemade devices that set off in front of a residence building and in front of a restaurant. Earlier that day there was a pipe bomb in Seaside, New Jersey that exploded near a Marine Charity run. There was also a device in a backpack the following morning in New Jersey. Police do not think that any of the cities were targets.
Now you're probably thinking, who in their right mind would do this? The answer to this would be Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28, who was born in Afghanistan but a U.S. citizen. He obviously was not too smart though because police detected his fingerprints on an unexploded pressure cooker bomb. Rahami has also been on the FBI's radar for some time. Like the Boston bomber, he was captured in a shoot out with police. Events like this make me really appreciate and respect what police officers actually do.
I really am not big into politics, but I do know something has to be done about people and terror attacks in America. I am not saying this out of hate of Muslims/Islams. I am not saying this to be defending a certain political party. I am saying this as someone who does not follow politics in order to live in a safe and progressive country. Isn't that what America is truly about?
