Not Political Politics

So America decided to go with something different this month. They elected someone who was a business man to be president. I am not saying that this bad, its just that usually a congressman or senator would be elected. They already know all the rules. Apparently, businessmen do not know these rules.

Protests have been occurring around the country since Donald Trump was elected for president. At these protests, some people have been burning the American flag. In my opinion this is stupid because burning the flag shows you are against America even though they are protesting a person. And trust me, Donald Trump is not America. Anyways, Donald Trump went to Twitter to solve the issue. He tweeted that anyone who burns the flag should lose their citizenship or be thrown in jail.

I am sorry, Mr. President, but that is not how citizenship works and you can't go to jail for burning a flag. Burning the flag is protected by the First Amendment. One of the main freedoms granted by this amendment is the freedom of speech. Speech includes "expressive action" which is how flag burning is protected. By doing this act, someone is speaking out that they don't like what's going on in this country right now. Also, you cannot take someone's citizenship randomly away. Before we know it, everyone will lose their citizenship expect for Trump himself!

Its beginning to look like a long four years.
