The Irony From Here to North Dakota

A few days ago I blogged about Standing Rock pipeline protest in North Dakota. Up until the time I blogged about it, I have never heard of this situation. Then it seemed to be the only think I saw on social media Monday night. I was walking back from class and my old friend from high school checked in to the Standing Rock reservation. I was going to comment, like an idiot, and be like 'OMG I just wrote about something there'!!!! Well I'm glad I did not embarrass myself because about twenty others checked in also. Now I knew there was something up.
The first place I went to solve this mystery was Google. It turns out that people are checking in in order to mess up police systems involved near the protests. There was some talk about how people thought the police were going to get violent so they needed to put a stop to it. Hundreds of people have been arrested at the protest, so if you ask me, it isn't the police who are getting violent. Go ahead and protest, it's protected by the First Amendment, but under no circumstance should police not have clear activation to their system, because what if something happened that actually mattered?
